Welcome to The Raft Foundation
We are a charity formed as a community group in 2012 to serve and support the
community of Rossendale, Lancashire.
Our projects to date include the only Rossendale based foodbank service.
This has been achieved through the incredible support of our colleague volunteers, faith
and community groups right across Rossendale as well as from our amazing business community
who continually support what we do.
The Raft Foundation runs Rossendale's Foodbank! The Raft Foundation was created in Rossendale, Lancashire by local people to assist families and individuals experiencing financial hardship.
We are delighted to be taking part in the national grow wild program headed up by those green fingered lot at Kew Gardens.
We are working with Civic Pride in Rawtenstall, St Saviours Primary School in Bacup, Crawshawbooth Primary School and Haslingden Primary School to make our open spaces more colourful and of course encourage our native wild flowers as well as those oh so important bees.
All this is designed to create "Bee" friendly spaces across the whole of Rossendale.
Our work has begun with the incredible support from Civic Pride.
Keep your eyes wide open to the lay-by on the right hand side of the approach dual carriageway into Rawtenstall town centre.
Supported by the Big Lottery Fund and led by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; Grow Wild is an exciting four-year programme that will bring people together to sow UK native wild flowers.
Grow Wild believes that together we can transform and bring colour to where we live: turning unloved spaces into wildlife-friendly wild flower havens.
